    NPCR is a new series of textbooks designed for native English speakers to learn Chinese. The objective of this series is to develop the student’s ability to communicate using Chinese through the study of language structure, language function, and related cultural knowledge along with the training of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Short-term Spoken Chinese by Beijing Language and Culture University

    Short-term Spoken Chinese is the set of textbook for short-term intensive training programs for foreigners. It includes 5 levels: Threshold Vol.1, Threshold Vol.2, Elementary, Intermediate and Pre-Intermediate. The Threshold volumes are for the beginners which include basic words and sentence patterns for communication in daily life. And the Pre-Intermediate volume is for students who have mastered simple sentence patterns and 800 or so Chinese words.

Conversational Chinese 301 by Beijing Language and Culture University

    Conversational Chinese 301 is intended to be an intensive course book for foreigners who have just started to learn Chinese.
    This book consists of 40 lessons and 8 reviews. The 40 lessons encompass nearly 30 communicative functions such as "Greetings" and "Making an Acquaintance", about 800 new words and the fundamentals of Chinese grammar. Each lesson is divided into six parts--Sentences, Conversation, Substitution and Extension, New Words, Grammar, and Exercises.
